Losing Ladd is the next book in the Ladd series by Dianne Venetta.Jeremiah Ladd is back and is determined to regain the Ladd property. After all, it was his father’s property until his father gave the land to Felicity. Delaney had control of the land until Felicity is of age. This was to keep her father, Jack from having anything to do with the property. Delaney convinced Felicity to give half of the land to her cousin, Casey who was also Jeremiah’s daughter. Her mother has control until Casey is of age.
Delaney leased part of Felicity’s portion to Nick to build a hotel complex on the property. Nick ran the hotel while Delaney ran the stables. Nick hired Malcolm and Cal to help run the hotel while he traveled to find places for more hotels. Jillian has come to the hotel and Nick and Delaney, Malcolm and Cal are sure she is looking to cause problems. They are more convinced of it when she starts running around with Jack.
A fire breaks out in the stables and Delaney is hurt and unconscious. She is taken to the hospital where ultimately she will undergo surgery. Malcolm and Cal take care of the hotel and insurance problems for the stables. Luckily only one horse was burned but he would be fine. Felicity finds Jack’s lighter at the scene and heads off to confront him. Travis follows her and makes it impossible for her to find out if Jack is involved. She breaks up with Travis over this.
The next morning, Felicity is on her way to the hospital to see Delaney before she goes into surgery. On the way, Jeremiah and two other men try to kidnap her but are thwarted by Travis. Jeremiah shoots Travis. Now Jeremiah is wanted for attempted kidnapping and murder if Travis dies. Felicity sits in the waiting room to hear news of her mother’s surgery and Travis’s surgery. Will they live? Is Jeremiah the arsonist as well? Will Delaney and Travis be OK? What will Felicity do next? Will they find out who the arsonist is?
This book ties up all the loose ends of the series.

I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 books by this author. I just took a chance when I purchased the first one, but after I read it I was hooked on all of them. It was good reading, interesting and good clean romance along with it. She brought the characters to life and make you feel like you were there right with them.
I enjoyed this book as I did the previous LAdd books..There was many different plots going on at the same time. The characters were interesting. You felt like you knew them well. The mystery of who was responsible for all the many problems going on was good. I HAVE ENJOYED FINDING A NEW AUTHOR TO LIKE.
Started with the first one and read all five. Good family dynamic and dealing with family feuds. Mystery and some nasty characters.
I gave it three stars, because the editing, or lack of, was the worst I ever saw, and I found very annoying.
I could not put the book down. I could not wait to get done with work or get on my treadmill so I could have time to read. The story keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. The characters are well developed, the story line is interesting, and the result is a captivating story. Loved the entire series and I hope there more to come.
I have completed reading the series of Ladd Springs books. All were great. if your from the north or south you will love these books. Being southern of course I loved the depiction of the landscape. There is nothing more beautiful than lots of trees and the streams and rivers of the south. The author is spot on with her words and emotions of how southerners view their land and the characters she writes about make you feel like you.know them. Highly recommend this series of books from a great storyteller.
I enjoyed the whole series! I'd LOVE to read more of this family's lives. They're all so strong, lovingly, emotionally and fit. I've enjoyed the recipes also.I want more of the whole families,does Delaney have any babies? Where's the next Hotel going to be?
Anyone who has a heart will fall in love with the characters,each lady and her man. I couldn't put them down once I started reading. This one's great for all the animal lovers out there also. I tip my hat to,Ms.Vendetta!!! A FANTABULOUSLLY WRITTEN SAGA!!!!!
Nicely written characters, no graphic sex tho there is a little talk of it, not a lot of bad language. You really feel like you are there. You do care about most of the characters.
That being said, lot of people may not like these because you get a lot of utterly gorgeous women and strong handsome men doing the right thing and falling in love even tho they are unlikely pairs. There's an unwed teen pregnancy that nobody seems to object to. I found the character of Lacy incredibly annoying and she's the focus of book 2. There are a lot of stereotypes. The bad guys are all entirely bad with no apparently redeeming qualities. The good guys are all entirely good... they may have some mistakes in their past but they repent and lead wholesome straightforward lives. Some of them are hot tempered but deep down, they are good so nobody holds their bad tempers against them. The women, with the exception of Fran, Ashley (secondary characters), Lacy and Felicity are all very... um... let's say aggressive, jealous, catty and grudge-holding. I'm sure you know the one word that fits all those things together )
Still and all, it was a nice light read. I got the 1st book for free and actually purchased the others, which I rarely do.
